Somewhere In Time

Grand Hotel Mackinac Island Michigan

Below is an all-time movie favorite of mine. I do like the time travel aspect of the movie, yet love the location, Mackinac Island, Michigan.
The Grand Hotel was built around 1887 on Mackinac Island.
The only way to the island is by ferry. Once you step on to the island, you will think you have time traveled back in time.
Only form of transportation is horse and buggy, bicycles and walking.
If you decide to go for a visit, be sure to check with the Grand Hotel for the dates they are open.
During winter it is closed due to ice and snow.

About the movie…
When Christopher Reeve sees the photograph taken of Elise McKenna in 1912 at the Grand Hotel, he becomes fascinated to the point of obsession with her. Christopher Reeve plays Richard Collier. He learns of the possibility using hypnosis to time travel from a friend.
Filmed at Grand Hotel Mackinac Island, and released in 1980.
